Asia-Pacific Lead, Fisheries in Transition and Markets
Geoffrey Muldoon is the Asia-Pacific Lead for Fisheries in Transition and Markets on the WWF US Oceans Team. Geoffrey works with industry, regional Network offices and other NGOs to support the execution of WWF’s Fisheries in Transition strategy including FIP development, particularly small-scale and developing world fisheries, and capacity building to expand and scale up FIPs in the region. In this role he provides regional support to the networks oversight of MSC with respect to fishery assessments and other credibility-focused initiatives. He also supports directly the US Seafood Markets team in linking corporate partner sourcing strategies to regional fishery improvement efforts.
Before transitioning to the US team in 2018, Geoffrey was with the WWF Coral Triangle Program from 2009 where he worked on multi-country initiatives in support of food security, improved livelihoods and responsible seafood from fisheries and aquaculture at a regional scale. He has a B.Ec. from the University of Tasmania and a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management and Fisheries Economics from James Cook University.
