Sarah Zaaimi
Program Officer, Seafood Markets Outreach
Sarah Zaaimi is a Program Officer on the WWF-US Seafood Markets team. In this role, Sarah will have the lead responsibility for implementing communications activities to assure that knowledge generated by the Aquaculture and Seafood Markets teams reaches targeted audiences. She will be providing support for the overarching seafood markets communication and engagement strategy, with a primary focus on aquaculture. She will also be collaborating with the global seafood markets’ team to design targeted communication strategies and tools for their various initiatives.
Sarah an international development and communication professional. She has worked and lived extensively in Europe, North America, and the MENA region in countries like the UK, Morocco, Egypt, Iraq, and the US, where she managed development projects in more than 16 countries, including conflict and post conflict areas. She more recently helped negotiating humanitarian access into Mosul, Iraq with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Sarah started her career as a journalist, and has worked since as a News Editor and Producer in several international newsrooms like the BBC and the US Agency for Global Media. She also collaborated with several international organizations as a consultant and full time employee on projects related to strategic communication, social marketing and campaigning, conflict resolution, and political participation. She is a Chevening Scholar and a UN Alliance of Civilizations Fellow.
Trying to marry between her passion for Media and International Development, she studied for a MSc. in development and communication at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a MA in Corporate Communication Management at l’Ecole Polytechnique de Paris, and a BA in Journalism and Communication.
