Senior Program Officer, Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) Ocean Hub and Ocean Markets
Meg is the Senior Program Officer for the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) Ocean Hub and Ocean Markets, facilitating the harmonization of metrics from WWF’s Oceans Team and Conservation International contributions as co-leads of the SBTN Ocean Hub. Meg also provides project management support for the Ocean Markets and Finance team to help build out new engagement with sectors impacting key seascapes, such as marine renewable energy, shipping, and coastal development.
Prior to WWF, Meg worked at Defenders of Wildlife’s Center for Conservation Innovation, where she specialized in the intersection of science, policy and people to achieve positive conservation outcomes for imperiled species. Her research involved finding creative policy solutions that worked for people and wildlife, focusing primarily on the implementation of the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Meg has a degree in genetics from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in conservation biology from the University of Maryland.
