Wendy Goyert
Lead Specialist, Latin American Fisheries in Transition
Wendy Goyert is a Lead specialist, Latin America Fisheries in Transition on the WWF-US Oceans Team. Wendy supports WWF’s fisheries in transition projects in Latin America and leads the development and implementation WWF’s FIP capacity building training program.
Before joining WWF, Wendy worked as an Ocean Policy Fellow with the Marine Conservation Institute in Washington, DC, where she conducted a feasibility study on establishing US marine national monuments as Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas (PSSAs) through the International Maritime Organization to protect them from environmentally damaging shipping activities. Wendy received her master’s degree in Environmental Management from Duke University in May 2009, where she explored the challenges and benefits of MSC certification for the Maine lobster fishery, and published her findings in Marine Policy in September 2010. She received a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Middlebury College.
